Jimmy is a graduate of Loyola University School of Law (J.D. 1996), and Nicholls State University (B.G.S. 1993). He is a proud veteran of the United States Army (1985-1989) and Army Reserve (1990-1993). He served his Country as a combat medical specialist and was assigned to the Third Armored Division, 3rd Battalion, 1/36 Infantry, 5/18th Infantry and then with the 4010th United States Army Field Hospital. His military experiences provided valuable lessons he utilizes in his practice today, including defining mission objective and planning.
In his more than twenty years as a litigator Jimmy has maintained a diverse practice, which includes Construction Litigation, Premises Liability Litigation, Redhibition, Products Liability, Unfair Trade Practices, Workers’ Compensation Litigation, Business Disputes, Commercial Litigation and General Civil Litigation. He is admitted in all Louisiana state and federal courts.
As a litigator, Jimmy is experienced in evaluating cases and formulating and implementing reasonable resolution strategies. Litigation can be complex, expensive and stressful, so Jimmy lends his knowledge to many insurance companies, corporations, individuals and self-insured companies.
John B. Esnard III
Trey Esnard is a founding member of the firm, who has over 20 years of trial and litigation experience in the state and federal courts of Louisiana and Texas. Trey primarily handles serious personal injury cases involving commercial motor vehicle accidents and premises liability. In addition to his personal injury practice, he handles construction and business disputes for clients.
Trey graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Finance in 1994. He then obtained his Juris Doctorate from LSU Paul M. Heber Law Center in 1998.
Trey lives in New Orleans. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, hunting and fishing.
Gothard King Reck
Gothard King Reck joined Castex Esnard, L.LC. as an associate in 2020.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Gothard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and management from Georgetown University– McDonough School of Business in 2015. He then graduated from Tulane University Law School and the Tulane A.B. Freeman School of Business with a JD/MBA dual degree in 2019. At Tulane Law, Gothard earned certificates in Louisiana Civil Law and Maritime Law and earned certificates in Mediation, International Arbitration and Alternate Dispute Resolution while studying at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. In business school, Gothard concentrated on finance and energy and served as a consultant to small businesses performing extensive market viability analysis, including licensing, trademark issues, and marketing and financing strategies. His legal knowledge coupled with his business analytical skills enable Gothard to assist clients on both legal and operational needs.
In his spare time Gothard enjoys fishing, hunting and traveling. A lifelong fan of Mardi Gras, Gothard is also member of the Krewe of Bacchus.
